This Ambulance Drone can fly 60mph with first aid

A new invention of this era called the ambulance drone is a flying defibrillator that can save your life.

Ambulance Drone

The prototype ‘ambulance drone’ is revealed by a Dutch student. The flying defibrillator has the ability to reach heart attack victims with precious life-saving equipments within minutes. This drone is developed by engineering graduate Alec Momont. According to him it can fly at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

The Flying defibrillator can fly with speeds of 60mph. the cost of the ambulance drone is approximately $19,000. This Flying defibrillator works by tracking emergency mobile calls. Then it navigates by using GPS. Like a paramedic theAmbulance Drone operators of the drones can watch, talk and instruct those to help the victim. They do it with the use of an on-board camera connected to a control room via a livestream webcam. Painted in emergency services yellow and driven by six propellers, the drone can carry a four kilograms load – in this case a defibrillator.

Emergency services such as Amsterdam have shown their interest on this prototype. The Dutch Heart Foundation also applauded the idea, the Dutch daily Algemeen Dagblad said.

Alec Momont dreams to see his drone as a ‘flying medical toolbox’. This will be able to carry an insulin injection to a diabetes sufferer, an inhaler to a victim or an oxygen mask to a person trapped in a fire.

However according to Alec Momont the ambulance drone is still in its infancy as far as developing its steering mechanism and legal issues regarding its use are concerned. He also said he targets to build a network of an operational emergency. He wants to do it across the Netherlands within five years. ‘I hope it will save hundreds of lives in the next five years,’ he added.

The expected to cost of the ambulance drone is around 15,000 Euros ($19,000) each.

The most important fact is that to provide the right medical care of a cardiac arrest within the first few minutes. ‘If we can get to an emergency scene faster we can save many lives and facilitate the recovery of many patients. This especially applies to emergencies such as heart failure, drowning, traumas and respiratory problems, and it have become possible because life-saving technologies, such as a defibrillator, can now be designed small enough to be transported by a drone.’ He further said.
